Lilium - Lily

As the selection of Lilies is vast the plant has been categorized into groups. What type of Lily do you want for your garden? When do they bloom and are they easy to grow for the garden beginner? They range in height, shape, color, scent and bloom time. Asiatic Lilies usually bloom early and are easy to grow. The color range is phenomenal and the shape is upward, downward or horizontal. The Lilies in this group are usually not fragrant however I strongly recommend purchasing the fragrant species as the aroma produced is wonderful providing the gardener with an additional reward for planting these magnificent bulbs.
