Perennial Celosia: Although most varieties of Celosia are small and their crested cousins attain a height of approximately eight inches these perennial Celosia are the amazons of the species. They self seed and spread rapidly. In late summer their wine coloured plumes and purple tinged leaves are positively striking. These two plants sprouted out of the garden in mid August 2002. This photograph was taken on October 4, 2002 and the plumes have not yet reached their full potential. These are without doubt the tallest Celosia I have seen to date in my garden and currently they are over nine feet tall.
I thought it would be helpful to stand between the plants acting as a scale to illustrate the height of these amazing Celosia.
