Annuals - Petunias

Petunias are available in white, yellow, orange, pink, red, lilac and purple. Petunias attain a height of approximately six inches to almost two feet. There are single varieties, double varieties and miniature Petunias.

The funnel shaped blooms are either one color or multi colored. The multi colored Petunia has a white edge giving the appearance of a star to the bloom.

Petunias

Petunias flourish in well drained soil with full sun. When summers are extremely wet the blooms are not satisfactory as last year I planted several double Petunias and they were slow to spread. As the wet summer progressed the plant began to look leggy and unattractive.

Petunias

The miniature Petunias are phenomenal. They are perfect for hanging baskets and when mixed with other annuals the result is breathtaking. Miniature Petunias are tiny and prolific yet they multiply quickly resulting in a dramatic effect for your garden setting.

Miniature Petunias

These dwarf or miniature Petunias are available in a wide array of colors however I would suggest orange or yellow as they really add zest and life to the overall landscaping scheme. Also these colors are spectacular against cedar fencing or red brick houses. They are bright and showy the entire summer season.
